Top 5 Worst Performing Junior Johnson & Associate Drivers By Brian Cotnoir Towards the end of 2019 we lost Junior Johnson.   The man Tom Wolfe called “The Last American Hero” and first ballot NASCAR Hall of Famer won 50 career races as a driver, but never a championship.   As an owner he would find even more success.   Junior Johnson fielded cars driven by future Hall of Famers Darrell Waltrip, Cale Yarborough, as well as Bill Elliott, Neil Bonnet, and many others.   As an owner Junior Johnson’s cars won 132 races and 6 drivers championships!   However, towards the end of his team he had some pretty lackluster drivers and teams, and today I’m going to talk about those drivers.   These are the 5 Worst Performing Junior Johnson & Associate Drivers 5.)   Sterling Marlin Sterling Marlin drove 2 seasons for Junior Johnson and actually did pretty well despite never winning a race.   He finish 7 th in the final point standings hi...

Top 5 Worst Performing Jaguar Racing F1 Team Drivers

Top 5 Worst Performing Jaguar Racing F1 Team Drivers By Brian Cotnoir If there’s one team I’d like to see return to the Formula 1 grid someday It would be the Jaguar team.   Jaguar despite being one of the most successful luxury carmakers in Great Britain and winning multiple Endurance races and championships hasn’t really been around in F1.   They were born out of the Original Stewart Grand Prix and then after 5 short years on the F1 grid were sold again and became the Red Bull Racing team.    The Jaguar team will also hold a special place in my heart, for being the team that my favorite driver—the Late Justin Wilson—scored his only career F1 point with, and for their iconic Green liveries.    Jaguar has become a large part of Formula E, but I still hope someday they’ll be back in F1 (either as a Constructor or an Engine Supplier). 5.)  Eddie Irvine, 3 Seasons, 18 Total Championship Points Scored, Best Finish 3 rd (2X) ...

Top 5 Worst Performing Prost Grand Prix Drivers By Brian Cotnoir Everyone who reads this blog knows I have a soft spot for the Ligier Formula 1 team in my heart.    Even though the team stopped racing long before I was interested in F1, I still regard them as one of the most underrated F1 teams in history and they are also the team that designed me favorite F1 car—the JS11—and also had my favorite F1 livery.    Well after, Ligier stopped running in Formula 1, the team was sold to 4-time Formula 1 World Champion Alain Prost, who renamed the team Prost Grand Prix.   Despite some early signs of success in their first season, Prost Grand Prix would struggle and would shut down after only five season in Formula 1; these are the 5 Worst Performing drivers who raced for Prost Grand Prix 5.)   Olivier Panis, 2.5 seasons, 2 Podiums, and 18 Championship Points Scored Panis scored Ligier’s last ever F1 victory at the 1996 Monaco Grand Prix.   That...

Top 5 Worst Performing ATS Wheels drivers By Brian Cotnoir The Nation of Germany is one of the largest producers of Automobiles in the world.    They have produced some of the most luxurious and fastest cars in human history with companies such as Audi, BMW, Porsche, and Mercedes-Benz.    In recent years, Mercedes has gone on to dominate the F1 seasons winning 6 consecutive drivers and constructors world championships!   However, the number of German F1 Constructors has been inconsistent over the decades.   Mercedes was absent (as a Constructor) from the F1 grid for over 40 years, Porsche hasn’t competed in F1 since the 1960’s and BMW bought stakes in the Williams and Sauber, but never officially opened their own F1 team.   Other German constructors saw very little success in Formula One, like the team I’m here to tell you about today ATS Wheels.   ATS Wheels ran for several seasons in F1 and had mixed results, often struggling to qualify ...
