Top 10 NASCAR paint schemes you (may have) forgot about By: Brian Cotnoir All right, I’ve talked about the Best, the Most Iconic, and the Ugliest Paint Schemes in NASCAR History and now I want to talk to you about some paint schemes you may have forgot about.   Maybe it was a paint scheme that was on a car that only ran a limited schedule or was a one-race only paint scheme, or for whatever reason, they just weren’t featured a lot.   Well hopefully, I’m able to capture some of those sweet Nostalgic Feels.   One more thing, I only selected paint schemes that were run across NASCAR’s Top 3 Series, so if one ran in ARCA or the Goody’s Dash, or another lower-tier series, don’t expect to see it on this list. 10.)   Loy Allen Jr., Hooters Car Loy Allen Jr. was the first driver to run a Cup Series Car with sponsorship from Hooters since the death of driver Alan Kulwicki.   He was sponsored by Hooters Restaurant in his ARCA career where he had one win an...

Top 5 Worst Performing Team Lotus drivers

Top 5 Worst Performing Team Lotus drivers By: Brian Cotnoir Team Lotus is one of the most iconic teams in the history of Formula 1.   In their 36 years of existence, the team won 7 Constructors Championships, 6 Drivers Championships, and 74 race victories with some of the greatest drivers of All-Time like Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Mario Andretti, Ronnie Peterson, Emmerson Fittipaldi, and Ayrton Senna.   The team dominated for decades before they eventually had to shut down.   What I find most interesting about Team Lotus’s story is some of the worst performing drivers usually raced along a more successful and better performing teammate, and led to a lot of lopsided performances in the final point’s standings.   These are without a doubt the 5 Worst Performing Drivers in the history of Team Lotus. 5.)   Johnny Herbert, 4 Seasons, 13 Total Points, Best Finish 4 th (3X) Johnny Herbert spent close to 5 seasons driving for Lotus in the early 1990’s. ...

Top 5 Worst Performing Equipe Ligier driver By: Brian Cotnoir           Automobile Racing has always been associated with the country of France since the very beginning.   The first Auto Race in the world was held if France, the FIA’s headquarters is located in Paris, and driver Alain Prost was not only the most successful French racecar driver, but also the winningest driver in Formula 1 History from 1987-2001, winning a Total of 51 Races (he is still presently 4 th All-Time in Career Wins).   Today Renault F1 is the only French Constructor in Formula 1, but they went through short periods without competing in Formula 1, but from 1976-1996, there was another French Formula 1 team competing on the grid, challenging for top spots in the midfield and occasional wins, Equipe Ligier.                         ...

Top 10 NASCAR drivers who never won a Cup Series championship By: Brian Cotnoir           NASCAR has been around for over 70 Years now and over those seven decades we’ve had many fantastic drivers.    Petty, Earnhardt, Waltrip, Yarborough, Gordon, and Johnson are all great drivers and all have won multiple championships in their illustrious careers,   Just between Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt Sr, Jimmie Johnson, and Jeff Gordon they have won more than 1/3 of all NASCAR Cup Series Championships, but there are dozens of NASCAR drivers who came close to scoring that illusive title, but just couldn’t pull it off.   These are the Top 10 NASCAR drivers who never won a Cup Series Championship. 10.)   Ernie Irvan Ernie “Swirvin” Irvan was my first favorite driver in NASCAR.   He was one of the best drivers of the early 1990’s driving for top tier teams like Morgan-McClure and Robert Yates Racing.  ...

Top 5 Worst Performing BMS Scuderia Italia Drivers

Top 5 Worst Performing BMS Scuderia Italia Drivers By: Brian Cotnoir BMS Scuderia Italia’s F1 cars were painted like Ferrari’s, but they drove like Minardi’s.    This Italian F1 team from Lombardy, Italy started out with Touring Cars and Sports cars before making their debut in Formula 1 in 1988, however the team would yield some rather dismal results and would shut down its F1 Program after only 5 Season in the sport.   Like Minardi, BMS Scuderia Italia ran with mostly Italian drivers.   The only non-Italian to drive for the team was Finnish driver JJ Lehto, but don’t worry he won’t be appearing on this list as he scored one of the teams 2 total podium finishes.   However, the worst of this team produced some truly horrendous results in Formula 1. 5.)   Alex Caffi, 2 Seasons, 4 Total Points Scored, Average Final Points Finish 19 th Alex Caffi was BMS Scuderia Italia’s first F1 driver.   He ran a single car entry for the team in 1988,...

Top 10 Ugliest Paint Schemes in NASCAR History

Top 10 Ugliest Paint Schemes in NASCAR History By: Brian Cotnoir I’ve talked about the Best Paint Schemes in NASCAR, and now I’m here to talk about the Ugliest.   Sometimes a paint scheme looks bad because of whose sponsoring the car, and other times it’s a real bad color combination, but whatever the reason these are some of the most hideous Paint Schemes to have ever graced a NASCAR track. 10.)   Dave Marcis, Prodigy paint scheme This one is so ugly, that it’s kind of cool.   For me the big issue is the combination of Purple & Green, and the Neon Orange numbers make it a little better, but this car is still looks like a disaster. 9.)     Joey Logano, AAA Insurance paint scheme Joey Logano has had a number of awesome paint schemes while driving for Roger Penske, however this red, white, and blue monstrosity is not one of them.    I think Logano and Penske should call AAA Insurance and see if they can use their policy to...
